Ernest Smith was a founding member of Vaccinex and is currently the head of the company’s research department. Through his work with Vaccinex, Smith has published over 20 peer-reviewed articles in top tier journals, and is an inventor on over 20 issued US patents. He has also delivered dozens of poster presentations and talks describing the company’s research and findings at scientific meetings both in the U.S. and in Europe. For 10 years, he also served as a lecturer in the Chemical Engineering Department at the University of Rochester and at the Pharmacy School at St. John Fisher College. Ernest earned his bachelor’s degree in biology from St. John Fisher College and earned master’s and doctoral degrees in immunology from the University of Rochester.
